Agreed. It's been encouraging to hear all the talk about "sustainable aid". I'll be curious how they solve the corruption problems though. If you have international observers on hand, others will scream "colonialism". But honestly, after Ha

Fantastic work! Just curious, why does it not return any results for long strings? For example, putting "hacker" in the Beginning box and "ne" in the Ending box yields no results.

I've had similar reactions from Project Managers after I showed them some versioned Excel files. They were blown away by the ability to go "back in time without having to manage copies". The revision graph totally floored them. There's an o

I think a lot of the worth of HN is in the analysis by the intelligent people who roam these virtual halls so even if the story is mundane I often learn a lot from the people who follow climate science and politics much more closely than I.

This reminded me of the last time I saw this guy in the popular press when he said he found that dancing like Travolta from Saturday Night Fever was really attractive to women. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Lifestyle/Dance_like_Trav..

my favorite Perl quote is from Stevey (of google fame): Sometimes [Perl] fits just right, but when it misses, the best code a human could write looks like it was produced by an agitated baboon banging its feet on the keyboard for 20 minute
