I knew this would be created eventually but I was thinking it would just be a shell. This looks impressive at first glance, implementing everything with OpenGL.

I can't tell where you draw the line. Would you share your alternative to credit scoring information for private money lenders? And government watch lists?

I thought of the same episode. Either way it seems very dystopian no matter who is providing the ratings to influence citizen's prospects.

If we go down that rabbit hole, are you allowed to perform well in your job using confidential information in order to gain a promotion?

Yes but you don't need exact colors. Just a limited set of colors that can be matched up, especially after correcting for white balance.

You might really enjoy Rainpaper then. It lets you choose a background or download popular images from Reddit. But my favorite feature is the integration with Dark Sky so the rain and intensity is activated when it really is raining. https

A terminating null element or logical equivalent in an array is helpful in lots of situations. As one example it simplifies the logic of looking for an element in an array and performing some special operation if it was not found. No bool f

Seems like a very useful short snippet for creating threads without having to learn a new threading API coming from a JS background. It seems to me like it would be more useful however to implement these functions using a queue and run loop

Seems odd to decentralize monetary power away from the government if it were to have been created by a government.

Well, I have done just about all I can to do to make the Matrix digital rain, but I am sadly 100 bytes over. I am out of time to kill, but if you aren't, please take this off of my hands. :) with(x)for(fillStyle="#000",fi

Fun fact: For most cars the sweet spot on the speedometer is about 40 to 60 mph, and generally, doubling your speed requires more than double the horsepower. Speeders likely already spend more than $0.25 in gas per trip from lost fuel effic

It's definitely exponential. Would be great to see a chart for active websites over the years. Knowing that 75% are parked domains shows more how much people are buying domains only as a precaution.

How do you expect a driver to maintain a dead man's switch the entire time they are driving in manual mode? Or conversely, suppose the switch must be maintained while the car is in autonomous mode, should the car pull over and stop on

Instead of averaging, I can recommend my go-to L-estimator for this sort of thing: the midsummary. Take the average of the 40% and 60% percentile as your measure of central tendency of performance.

Given 60fps games, with 5 minutes of play, and 8 NES buttons, it seems reasonable to search through just under 4,608,000 possible plays to find the shortest run! 5 mins * 60 fps * 2^8 button possibilities = 4,608,000 button possibility fram

I once had to multiply the `rsi` register by 3 so you bet I used `imul rsi, 3`, right? Nope. This does the exact same thing with an unknown or small performance advantage: lea rsi, [rsi + rsi*2]

I made this[0] a while back as an implementation of merge sort in JavaScript with continuation passing style. His seems very similar but uses quicksort. Surprising since merge sort has fewer comparisons than quicksort's average case[1]

The Game Boy Camera has an analog output (a technical data sheet for the chip is available[1]), so the dithering is done in software. Although I am speculating, at first glance it appears to be ordered dithering[2]. EDIT: I did find a docum
