That's not what I'm getting at at all in this case. The left in Europe tends to be highly critical of the EU, and advocates either reforming the EU radically to make it more democratic or, if that isn't possible, leaving it.

It says a lot about what injustices we have learned to accept that AI alarmists focus almost exclusively on the scifi-level hypothetical dangers of AI, rather than the very real problems it already causes today. Those problems largely fall

If you're OK with waiting multiple hours for CI, I suppose these issues wouldn't affect you very much. Where I work we make relatively small PRs and deploy to production tens of times per day. The recent outages have been a nightm

It seems incorrect to me to treat mathematics as a science. Mathematical concepts are quite arbitrary in the sense that we choose definitions that suit our purposes. And mathematics isn't "observed" and studied empirically.

Quilette is an interesting choice of publication, given that they don't mind promoting one particular kind of "scientific" literacy: https://quillette.com/2018/05/12/biosocial-criminology-lombr.

Maybe a stupid question: Is this the standard measurement of effectiveness? I.e. you give the control group a dummy vaccine, the test group the real vaccine, and you just wait for them to be infected? Why not test for antibody development?

1. One great thing about open source is that nobody is forcing you to upgrade. You can stick with VLC 3.x forever, and as mentioned in the video, it will be a long-term support release. 2. Jean-Baptiste Kempf was offered tens of millions of

Since the article lists prices in INR: The price of the iPhone 12 Pro in India in USD today is $1,615.22, and the price in Dubai is $1,140.15. So it must be possible to fly round-trip to Dubai for less than about $475, which seems plausible

Paying employees according to the true value of their labor is tempting at first, but you better be careful-- Apply the principle too consistently and the C-suite gets a huge pay cut.
