While I agree there is some title tweaking going on, IMO the empathy you speak of needs to go in both directions, especially if you're a smaller organization. It really needs to be, as you say, shared . If shipping shit yesterday is

I think this is downvoted because it's considered slow and/or hacky and having a fair amount of overhead (especially for SSH -- e.g. User and Key management). That being said, I think the explanation is not available because ... p

I think without: 1) Open Source software AND especially 2) significant financial incentives for finding and reporting bugs, it will be business as usual for the foreseeable future.

Though I agree with your points for the most part, let's not forget that the president does have real power to directly affect policy in this country, as well as shape key parts of government, as we are all being constantly reminded of

Anecdotally, I've actually been driving down the road (passenger side), middle of the woods on the way to the beach, putting out a small sysadmin fire while on vacation (from my Android phone). I know, I know - supposed to be on vacati

Also, what about your perception of time? Would it pass the same as it does now? Compress or expand? I think mortality is fundamentally wired into the thought processes of earth bound organisms. Part of that is how one perceives even smalle

Gosh I'd love to talk to this psychoanalyst. I can say as a non-adopter of Facebook (and before that MySpace) from the beginning (despite some immense social pressure) it has simply always been about "privacy" and the desire

The only question I have, in this particular case is: what about the victims of the original app? Are they possibly the subject of re-victimization if the app on their device is compromised further by 3rd parties? Though I completely agree

I like to pose the question subjectively: what would it be like to have my own consciousness suddenly operating within a computer instead of my body, right now ? Would the machine have to simulate my bodily experience to give my mind a fra

I don't understand how a professional in infosec couldn't see the necessity of anonymity in myriad use cases. Overlay networks seem to be the only viable option in many scenarios....?

I loved the part at the end where he talked about the "Doomsday Prep for the Super Rich". I'd read the same article a month or so ago, and his intution on the subject seemed spot on. I think the mindset speaks to exactly the

It seems this would be the question when using CRISPR against any virus. Right now one would have to use gene drive to 'amplify' CRISPR and apply it in a living, adult organism (as I understand it). Perhaps some "similar"

Personally, I believe there's some level of "intuition" involved, that perhaps some people are just gifted with naturally. I think these people still have to practice though, to build upon that natural ability. Note that I&#x

I believe this is an easy trap for developers of all skill levels to find themselves in. I imagine the "10x developer" would just be really good at avoiding this kind of thing ... most of the time.

I would say it depends on your position in your place of work, but there are multiple examples of this. I prefer historical ones, say for example NANP (the North American Numbering Plan). I'm not sure what country you're in, but h
