One of the best features I built into our game studio's AI router (IMO) was to take a random sampling of generations and have them generate across ALL models (that we support, at least) so we, the developers, can browse outputs and get

I don't think OP's "Why do people ask employees this stuff" question implies you _shouldn't_ ask, but rather wonders why people even ask when you're obviously not going to get an answer (and if you do, it'

Yes, I've worked remotely for the last decade+ on many innovative teams and typically find them more engaged, autonomous, and innovative than most of the on-site-only teams I've also occasionally helped.

Same, it was $150 for 1400 sq ft house last I did it, so roughly same ballpark. I do remember it being closer to $80 10ish years ago though.

nit: 45k is the average car loan for a new car, but average for a used car is $25k. Purchasing a car is a necessity but purchasing a new car is a luxury.

I don't think a cleaning robot and a vehicle are in the same category, as vehicles are more a necessity (at the very least to get to and from your jobs, to buy groceries, etc) and a cleaning robot is squarely a luxury.

The job postings being all on-site (no remote) is kind of wild.

Bots routinely overwhelm my public-facing websites. The last few times I've turned on "attack mode" in Cloudflare (which I do when bot swarms get particularly nasty), traffic dropped by at least 20k requests/minute (whic

Very, very, very excited to hopefully stop getting support emails at Notebook.ai for people trying to get help with NotebookLM. Gemini Notebook is a way better name for the masses.

Ironically, the prevalence of AI "tells" like that (combined with the ubiquity of AI works passed off as human-written) will inevitably feed back into more use by non-AI writers who think they're normal. (Also, I'm never

Is a google search actually easier than asking a model?

I had a 300k LOC game that needed refactored and segmented into DAG assemblies for a composable engine to reuse in a few other similar games our studio is prepping to build. I tried holding Opus's hand over a week trying to get it done

What is an "ephemeral" model in this context?

Interestingly, as someone who works in story generation and AI-assisted writing specifically measuring "quality" when it comes to generated writing samples, I've found Claude > Gemini > (most non-mainstream models) >

How are people selling RAM (and GPUs) these days? I have a bunch to offload but Facebook Marketplace and eBay don't sound like they're very great for small, very expensive ($1-3k) electronics...

Hmmm. I have a game on steam that has almost entirely AI-generated graphics (and AI-generated animations/code that move them), but we pay someone to do our promotional videos. Wonder if something like this would tag the video as AI-gen

What is the benefit of deleting a PR over just closing it? It seems like closing has the benefit of signaling what kinds of PRs aren't acceptable, which deleting would lose.

Interestingly, that kind of parallels the real world too: if you want a quick and high level answer, talk to someone in person; if you want something detailed and info-dense, get them to write it down.
