1. We're in late-stage capitalism. Things are optimized for capital, not for people. 2. You are a victim of the fact that sensationalism drives views and clicks. Things aren't getting any worse, you're just exposed to the wor

Very cool, but if we've learned anything from Amazon et al, it's that features that effectively reduce engagement- and therefore, sales- are ultimately doomed to be scrapped.

That’s because smile was invented as a way to bypass having to pay Google for the referral link; incentivize people to retype the link before actually buying it was the ultimate goal.

Should be an interesting experiment at a decently high scale. Time will tell if degradation due to dust, pests, etc is negligible enough to make the avoided maintenance costs worthwhile. I think we would all argue that the opposite is bette

Most utility scale installations don’t track the sun- too much cost. This takes cost-saving to a new level though.

Oh yeah, I couldn't do it alone. I love working remotely, but that's because I have my wife, dogs, and nearby family to keep me more or less sane.

I have a friend from Egypt who is light years ahead of every other immigrant I know in terms of fluency, accent, etc. His secret? He watches a ton of Seinfeld, haha. I mean a ton. And I think what really happened is he formed a sort of iden

This is exciting! Not only does it give a chance to breathe new life into old games, but it's an excellent example of how communities can create value, both for the user and for the sponsor (Nvidia in this case).

Yep, if anything I'm fascinated by the advance in science in this area. It's amazing how much work is being done in human longevity and healthspan that isn't "publicly" funded.
