I realize I like to consume news (rss, HN, Reddit) while browsing the sites. If I get an email with the info I just end up delete it. So no, I wouldn’t pay or even use it.

After trying different things (including GTD) I ended up using emacs Org-mode and Org-roam and I’ve been pretty satisfied for 6 months. I’m actually getting things done and I can find my notes easily. The learning curve is a bit steep but w

In order to keep everything simple and not locked down to a platform or application I have all my documents (legal or not) organized using Johnny decimals numbering ( https://johnnydecimal.com/ ). They are then stored in Seaf

thanks for the explanation. I guess I see zero use-cases for social features of a bookmark manager. The GUI is fire but without being able to host myself (or it being open source), I unfortunately won’t use it.

This looks pretty interesting but it doesn’t look like you can selfhost it?

I’ve had the samt problem. I clearly state on indeed/linkedin/ziprecruiter that I’m looking for management positions and all my experience is as a project manager, manager or business relationship manager but my masters is in comp

I always had the Apple Watch solution, but I see what you mean. I live in a colder climate so I wear gloves often and the faceid is more convenient there. Both have their pros and cons.

Honestly no. I have a work phone with touchID and my personal phone uses faceid and I feel like faceid is just as convenient.

With physical products that you connect to your network (eg. IoT devices such as smart light and other things) you can usually check dns requests. If you have something like pi-hole or Adguard installed, dns requests will be directed those

I honestly don’t see what the pros is compared to other split keyboards that are widely available like Kyria, Corne, Lily58 etc?

Not really sure what this offers compared to Jitsi. The author says Jitsi is complicated, but my company switched to onprem jitsi at the start of covid and it's been a pretty smooth ride (5000+ users).

I completely agree. But I feel like the work is more rewarding. I’ve been a manager for a team of architects and I love the difficulty and problem solving of their jobs.

Architects for sure. We permanently have open positions and it is impossible to find qualified candidates.

Loving gas stoves seems like such an American mentality. Currently living in Denmark and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have induction. All new kitchens will come with induction stoves. Gas is a thing of the nineties… I had a gas stove in

No worries. I already have a Lily58 and a couple of other split boards, so the Djinn is pretty interesting.

Of course you can buy Lily58 but I was talking about Djinn from the OP.

I don’t see anywhere to buy a pre made one. As far as I can see, no shop even sells the kits to make them yourself.

You are probably right. We only moved there because my wife already had a job there and a lot of our friends are in Orlando. We have zero connection to any of the bigger tech cities, so that wasn't even an options.

I quit my job of four years because I got a green card and wanted to try to work in the US. I am from Denmark and got the green card through marriage. Moved to Orlando (as my wife had a job there) and applied to roughly 300 IT jobs but only

You could have a selfhosted gitea or gitlab instance that mirrors your GitHub repo. I use that as backup for some GitHub repos.

1Password have had a cli interface for some time. I used to use that on Linux like two years ago. Since the release of 1PasswordX I hardly ever spend time in the native apps except for iOS.

For a split that isn’t too wild, try an Alice layout from Switchcouture. I’ve been using one for about 6 months and it’s amazing. Else try Kyria from splitkb. Had that for about 4 months and it’s so nice to type on. For one with numbers, yo

Looks really cool. I’ll definitely give it a try. Can you add your own repo too? Let’s say I use an addon from github, would I be able to use that as a source?
