This could work really well to harness the power of learning from the community if you reveal your product. I'm sure lots of folks, especially here, would jump in and help you improve your registration rate if we had visibility.

I'm calling link-bait on the original Paydirt post. Either that or Paydirt's prejudice against IE. But I believe they're smarter than that.

Isn't Dustin contradicting himself? “The only reason you should be an entrepreneur is because that’s the only way the idea will come into the world,” Vs "A lot of great people are wasting their time and talent by pursuing 'something that do

An interesting observation about Jason and the dry writing style of many tech blogs. If The Kernel can avoid this I'll be a regular reader, while taking Milo's writing with a spoonful of salt.

It does try to interrupt you, but I'd probably do the same: ignore it if I'm not happy. Maybe there could be a 'f * off' dismiss button that registers as an unhappy response?

Once I broke the loading sequence of a game and discovered I could see all of the source right there. It was as simple as BREAK if I remember. That kicked me off on my favourite learning method: reading someone else's code.

Having to find the right key for the BREAK keyword was especially interesting (you couldn't just type out B-R-E-A-K). I started programming without even reading the manual: having all the keywords laid out there made me think 'just what is

So they're merely 'Best Buy' branded. If I buy something from your company I expect to return it to any of your outlets, including if I've purchased online. That's why I love Collect+ so much. http://www.collectplus.co.uk/merchants

I've hit this 'can only link bank account to one PayPal account' problem a few times and it is very frustrating. The way I operate my business and personal bank and PayPal accounts means I have to shuffle money around to work with this rule

This is very left field. Maybe they're spooked by something and want to be part of a movement rather than the target?

In the UK, ESCOM, a major high street electronics retailer and wholesaler Makro both decided to default to OS/2 Warp. So my friends and I were all exposed to it. But of course the technical superiority meant nothing when we had to wait 5 mi

Cool. I wish I'd kept some of the ZX Spectrum programs I wrote. I tried a few times by using my hi-fi as the tape out. But then my mom would clean my room and reset it by accidentally knocking it over. Almost as traumatic as when she disman

Hmm. It looks awesome, and I'm all for the physical metaphors approach of Apple, but how does this enhance usability versus say a standard accordion?

I disagree. Surely an Order HAS Payments, therefore /orders/42/payment POST is more correct. Likewise orders/42/shipment. Nicely leading on to /orders/42/payments/1.

Today a client came to me whose website wouldn't appear at all in search results. Webmaster tools told her nothing. Taking a look at the site the domain registrar wasn't doing a proper nameserver/cname/permanent redirect or the like, instea

I'm British. I visit the USA once a year and travel elsewhere quite frequently. I would rate the "welcome mat" as on a par with non-European countries but worse than Canada. China and Ghana for instance require more tedious immigration appl

This is the same philosophy I subscribe to. It's wasteful to test everything in a non-world-world-is-going-to-end system. Especially if you're running lean and the code may be thrown away in a week.
