According to eurosport commentary they do change wheels and tires based on the race. That said they use rim brakes so probably never go over 28m tires.

Bookmarks are a pain to manage and navigation history expires. I guess I use tabs like automatically created bookmarks, when i’m done with them i just close the tab. I have fuzzy search across the tabs, so i never click around on a tab look

AWS price per GB actually goes down as you reach different monthly checkpoints. To me it seems like payment processors are a more direct comparison and they usually do a combination of flat fee + percentage.

To me at least the length of the race just makes the situation less likely to occur. The problem is still in play for a 4 km pursuit or in theory the transcontinental race (though the likelihood of a sprint finish is near 0). In general I t

It’s worked out ok for scala (though i don’t think anyone cares about it for android). Obviously a lot of code that only works on the JVM, because a lot of people just don’t care about native/js. But most core libraries will have ‘shar

Do you feel the same way about people that wear cleats for soccer? Or should they just tough it out in dress shoes? Like i get you read it as some sort class signaling, but i think that says more about you than the person wearing it. Seriou

I think this is an important point. Recently I was reading a post that talked about how one belongs to a community. Which on one hand means you are accepted and identify with it, but also that the community has a claim back upon you. Peop

I raised my score by 200-300 points in each category by spending some time with one of those study prep books with the example tests. This saved me about $8k / semester due to ‘merit’ based scholarships + honors program (my university

My cynical take is that frontend devs will do this anyways, just with api calls from the client and probably repeat the same calls a few times per page load. But hey, the backend metrics look great, who cares that the page takes 10 seconds

Rattlesnakes actually don’t rattle that much, they rely a lot on camouflage. Also young ones won’t have fully developed rattles and older ones can lose them. They will often strike without warning. It’s important to pay attention where you

IPA is great for writing down how people speak, but I don't think that's the most important aspect to capture for most writing. An example where this might be useful is the dialogue in Twain's novels, where he would often try

Problem with English is that there are a lot of vowels (up to about 20) and the number varies greatly based on dialect. I believe this is an outlier for Indo-European languages.

Your chances of landing a job in a research lab in undergrad probably doesn’t correlate with top research output. People who have armies of phds and post docs don’t have time for undergrads. I spent my last 2 years of uni in a research lab
