Not only that but once you pick green or blue it's going to skew your results in that direction. I got a higher level of blue as my result but it's only because that's what I picked since I had to pick one of them.

I looked up the banknotes since I was curious https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indonesian_rupiah#/media/File:... Is it the Rp2000 and Rp50000 that get mixed up? They seem obvious in that picture but it might be

Not everything you listed is the same. > Is "pink" a different colour than (light) red? No, it's a different word for it. > Where does "white" end and "grey" begin? When any amount of black is added

You'd think so but all the evidence so far points to the contrary. Most people seem perfectly happy to trade security and privacy for convenience.

Models are not paranoid or anxious, they do not think or have feelings. I know you're probably using those words as a metaphor but we need to be careful about anthropomorphizing LLMs.

Most of the numbers are BS. They're regular layoffs with AI used as a scapegoat.

MacOS is full of these anti-owner decisions. They want full control over your experience for their benefit.

It's wild that this is being downvoted on HN. Facts should never be illegal or suppressed. If you disagree you shouldn't downvote, you should refute in a reply.

Resident here, it's great. EPB is the power company and internet provider. They run fiber anywhere they run power. They also have good customer service, local knowledgeable phone support, and inexpensive support services like installin

Are there any similar ways of isolating environment variables, secrets, and credentials? Everyone is thinking about the file system but I haven't seen as much discussion about exposing secrets and account access.

Too little too late. I've been a Windows user since 2.1. It hasn't always been my primary OS but I've always had it running somewhere. Win 10 LTSC is the last Windows I'll use. I still have it on my desktop but will be m

These services shouldn't make assumptions based on demographics, like location. Some broader examples, it shouldn't recommend US pop music to me because I live in the US or country music because I live in the south.

Fruiting plants require more space. You're not going to grow tomatoes or peppers in a server rack. Density works well for leafy greens and microgreens.

I used DESQview with my BBS. It only had one line but I ran a second local node so I could be online at the same time as my users. I don't remember ever having any problems with it.

I never spent as much time as OP on this but I did collect a lot of data during peak quantified self. I liked having automatic data collection and being able to see trends, for example. I stopped because of a few issues, not related to time

What's with so many people creating new accounts to promote LLM generated projects? Are they people who don't care about HN and just trying to self promote? Existing users creating new accounts? Lurkers?

Writing software isn't like a small bakery with fixed demand. There are always more features to build and improvements to do than capacity allows. For better or worse software products are never finished.

Anthropic's write up[1] is how all AI companies should discuss their product. No hype, honest about what went well and what didn't. They highlighted areas of improvement too. 1: https://www.anthropic.com/news/

I wouldn't say DDG is worse, I'd say it's equally as bad. Both Google and DDG are full of AI slop now. Often the entire first page is full of wrong generated content. At least DDG lets you block results which Google does not.
