That is basically what f-droid allows you to do, add different repos. Though google play doesn't provide a repo that fdroid, obviously.

Onlyoffice is getting there, but it is still missing a few features, such as animations.

Congrats to Mozilla and matrix.org! I am at least very happy they went with a FOSS solution.

I have little desire to decompile every update and/or constantly analyse what their app is doing. They've proven to be untrustworthy on multiple occasions, and haven't given me much reason to think they've changed. They

Facebook says in a hn post that the article is wrong, but I have no real reason to trust Facebook, given their track record.

Note that here electric bikes are currently mostly treated like normal bicycles, and don't typically mingle with car traffic.

I recently switched from riot android to riotx, and while it is indeed beta quality in my experience that is more due to some missing features compared with riot android (such as VoIP, searching rooms by name, and sharing files) than the st

Because the second tine was a dns hijack, not a network compromise. I'm a little fuzzy on the details, but it had something to do with cloudflares API not revoking some access token. Either way, a DNS hijack is not great, but not nearl

There is a signal bridge [0], but it is a little hacky. I would imagine moxie won't condone an 'official' bridge to matrix, given his stance on federated chat. Also: any realistic (short-term) bridges will have to basically b

I'm Dutch and I basically never use the so called Dutch reach, I use my mirror and look over my shoulder before opening the door. I never doored a cyclist and have no reason to assume I ever will.

Facebook and Google are known to track non-users around the internet as well.

I haven't looked in to it, as I'm not an ios user, but Mozilla would be very stupid if this isn't end to end encrypted. And as far as I know Mozilla typically isn't stupid.

I bridge SMS to matrix, I currently have no use for slack, but if I were forced to use it I would bridge that to matrix as well. Of course the matrix IRC bridges are also quite good. I'm in a couple of bridged IRC rooms.

Fair enough, that's also why I included: "but if there are enough 1:1 conversations to contribute significantly to the overloadedness of matrix.org" Matrix.org is still running, so no complaints there. You'll figure thi

That's of course true for the massive rooms, such as #matrix:matrix.org, but if there are enough 1:1 conversations to contribute significantly to the overloadedness of matrix.org splitting the servers up and 'randomly' assign

While I agree that the end to end encryption has quite a few UI/UX issues that can be problematic, I did successfully move my non-techy family to matrix/riot. We're all pretty happy with it. (that is to say, I don't real

I'd argue matrix.org is a good contender for that space, federated, selfhosted and steadily growing, with megolm for end to end encryption (based on signal axolotl whatever the name is).

Start using riot.im it's Foss, and federated (with a very cool end to end encryption I might add). If you prefer a more classical voice chat use mumble.
