Python's philosophy is often said to be: "There should be one - and preferably only one - obvious way to do it." Which is not exactly the same as "one way to do it". There can be many ways to do it, if they are obvious from perspectives, ju

The pyramids were not built by slaves (at least there's no real proof of it). A lot of the workers who died during the construction where buried in decorated tombs which says something about their wealth, which probably says they couldn't b

1) CPython is written in portable readable C code. 2) CPython has been around since 1991, and thus people have had the time to port it properly. 3) Python have shown an interest in supporting both Unix and Windows for a long time (and later

.com/.org/.net are not desginated to the US. They are generic top-level domains operated by a US company. Go use .us if you want a ccTLD for the US. Or .edu/.gov/.mil which are sponsored TLDs for use by the US.

I don't think PyPy is faster. Their design is significantly more complicated and thus takes longer to tune. Additionally I think python is a small bit more dynamic then Lua, complicating things. I remember seeing a comparison between LuaJit

I have not heard of a Google AI Car crashing into another car. I have heard that one of the Google AI Cars was involved in a small crash (the other car crashed into the Google Car) while it was driven manually just outside Google's headquar

Because the money he spends raises the price of goods etc. Therefore your 20,000 becomes less money. This is easy too see in expensive cities. The same middle-class person would have to demand more money to live at the same standards as he/

No it doesn't. Adobe did open-source their JIT and partnered with Mozilla for further development. But Mozilla could not make it fit Javascript well enough, and eventually their own JITs became faster, so they concentrated on them.

I never really accepted the argument that Scheme/Lisp is simpler than a language like Python, simply because everything in the language is reduced to constants/terminals (what's the right terminology here?) and functions. Many language diff

I did the same. It's puzzling how some suggestions really comes up a lot. "racist" and "rude" seems very common. I get why "racist" would be so common, but "rude" odd. But maybe it tells something about how other people view a new country.

The problem lies in that you never have a "Car" which should inherit "Vehicle". It's a question that never comes up in programming. The bad part of it, is that it sometimes makes new programmers look for these kind of concepts in their code

The point is that you can't pass an object. The object lives on the heap and you always pass references around. Thats why when we pass in a list we can change the contents. The passed-in value is a copy of the reference to our list object.
