I caught that too, but the president doesn't have to sign a bill for it to become law. If its unsigned for 10 days and congress is in session then it takes effect.

I was researching vehicle safety for a new car purchase a few years ago and came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT3G-kcKN70 It freaked me out and I stay as far away as possible from semis on the road now

There is definitely a (relatively) small number people in the US who were harmed by globalization. The problem here is A) they have disproportionate political power and B) we lack a social safety net so they got hit harder than the should h

I think capitalism and socialism both address issues of scarcity, with one trying to direct resources to those who produce the most "value" and the other trying to ensure everyone has enough to get by. Not a lot of thought has gon

Using the school analogy, imagine if schools had a private component and a public component. All kids got an education there, but there would be an incentive to charge more for a better education. And an incentive to blur the lines between

That's interesting. I've wondered for a long time why non-healthcare industries don't lobby hard for universal healthcare. It's a huge cost and administrative nightmare.

There are definitely some (mostly) young, carefree people who actually opt-in to that lifestyle. They're probably overrepresented near a University. They have friends and family they could go stay with to get back into society at a mom

Mobile was obviously a big failure on their part, though I think their only misstep was being late to market. On the other hand bing has been good for them (and it's great for consumers). Hard to call a multi-million dollar business un

The idea that the investigation is coming up dry, or that there's no evidence, seems like willful ignorance. 34 people have been indicted, including the president's campaign chairman (Paul Manafort), campaign manager (Rick Gates),

WeWorks innovation is coming up with an office rental "product" that has high demand not being met by the market. Most property owners want long term leases because vacancies cost them money. Most freelancers and small businesses

At a micro level, taking money out of a deposit and investing it does not create inequality. At a macro level, the fact that simply having wealth begets more wealth in a way that labor cannot accomplish is a driving force behind inequality.
