I had a toy project which housed all its data in Postgres and I needed a bit of graph traversal, really basic stuff. I almost prepared some ETL to load the data into neo4j/redisgraph, but then I found out about recursive CTEs in Postgr

Fascinating numbers. Do you know if that 95% number could be brought down by tooling? We have deployed fairly strict code style guides + included some linters and other tools to watch over code quality to reduce these conversations about st

Excellent, I've just finished setting up a Postgres instance on a DO Droplet. I hope they still allow SSH into the instance, so that I can load data directly from there. By the way this comes just a week after AWS Lightsail started off

CppCon has super interesting content. That comes from a person who has written maybe two dozen lines of C++ code, mostly just hello world. E.g. this talk by Matt Godbolt or anything by Chadler Carruth. https://www.youtube.com

I know we got 11 just today, but I can't wait for 12 already! Rumours about alternative storage systems are extremely exciting, the idea of having a columnar materialised view (just guessing, not sure what the actual implementation wil

Ace, thanks for elaborating. You could perhaps add a shorter version of this explanation to your README to make it clearer to others as well.

I can highly recommend Joel Grus’ live coding video. He creates a deep learning library only using numpy in an hour and it’s really fun to watch it all come together. https://youtu.be/o64FV-ez6Gw

Here's a nice overview of how Facebook migrated their codebase to Python 3. While it's different in nature (server side vs. client side), it's rather interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4SS9yVWJYA
