can someone link up a good "nginx for newbies" type resource for someone who is familiar with programming?

Yeah, it seems the first post about it on HN was over a year ago. I suppose that's a good enough time for a controlled test release. Will be exciting to see this in the wild.

I like how the example idea is ripped off three.js: http://threejs.org/examples/#css3d_periodictable ;p But seriously, this doesn't look very release-ready.

If he figured it out, so can anyone else. Disclosing the find levels the playing field for any eventuality.

I'm surprised this situation hasn't materialised earlier. With all the "forced migrations" happening during and after WWII both to and from the area of todays Ukraine, the country became a tinderbox a long long time ago.

Seems like they were arrested for selling bitcoins to silk road users en masse. Is this just a US law oddity or is that what passes for money laundering these days?

Developer here looking to possibly relocate from London to Berlin or other German (or Dutch) place, I have a question for anyone filling out this poll: I spend on avarage about £700 a month excluding rent, which allows for relatively comfor

For majority OSS projects out there, that is not sustainable. As you said so yourself, when the money runs out the project is in trouble, because when those people inevitably get real jobs to cover their livelihood they become less active o

This is very true and also the reason that you can't just dump a bag of cash onto an OSS project and expect it to fare batter: Open Source projects run on time, not money. The only way to give it more time is to have more devs that are

It seems nothing ever really changes. In the 90s people would put totally unnecessary ActiveX and Java applets on their sites that would slow down already slow web browsers. Then came the era of unnecessary "javascripts" downloade

I do that all the time, even for small amounts of text, but only when using a mouse and not, say, a touchpad. I know other people who do it too.

The article seems to conclude this is mostly a PR move, which I find plausible. I can't really imagine that an average Zynga customer would want to use bitcoin. This is good news though, hopefully people will stop going bananas about t

So what is the typical procedure when encountering a large boulder? Get people there and just drill through it manually? Or would they have to completely remove the entire boulder? (how?)

Well, as I said, some self service checkouts do that as well. Coinstar probably doesnt like that though.

Do you not have self-service checkouts at supermarkets? They usually have a counting drop like coinstar but you just pay for your groceries so no extra charge.

It doesnt because we have TLDs. Why is the hierarchy necessary? Why can't we have a one big list of strings matched with IP addresses?

Serious question here, what are the technical limitations in ditching gTLDs and allowing domain names to be any string?
