For the person doing it, sharing of such news can be more like the person expressing their own emotions than like sharing information. If that expression gets invalidated, the motivation to express those emotions remains.

What does this actually feel like for a driver? I imagine that spending hours letting the car drive itself while only making sure the car doesn't do something stupid might be less enjoyable than driving for hours.

I can run X in 4 MB on a VAXstation 2000 in Ultrix or Athena-4.3BSD. But a usable Linux 5.10 system in 4 or even 8 MB? That's what I find hard to believe.

Probably the USB interface keeps some data for its encryption function on a part of the hard drive which it makes inaccessible. You erased the whole hard drive, including that part, and probably caused the USB interface to malfunction.

Seems to me like Taiwan reacted to an emergency as soon as information was available, while Western countries ignored the emergency until things got so bad they couldn't be ignored anymore.

Others cancelled what was supposed to be happening now. The Olympics were still in the future. It seemed reasonable to wait until there is sufficient evidence that things won't be back to normal by then.

On Saturday March 21st I was at the tip of Canada's Point Pelee National Park, approximately 41.909055, -82.509154. At 9:12 EDT (1:12 AM UTC on the next day), I saw a an approximate disordered line of satellites passing above Orion. Th

I find it a bit a bit scary that a microcontroller controls charger voltage. There might be a risk of power glitches or bugs causing output voltages which destroy devices.

Many rear car LED lights flicker because their full brightness is used as brake lights, and they are dimmed via pulse width modulation for normal lighting. This is simply a bit cheaper, which is ridiculous on an expensive car. I don't
