One quickly realises that you must mean a balanced tree, since otherwise there would be no unique solution, but it would still be nice if it was explicit in the text.

Wasn't hard. The problems could be better explained, for example in the second one they should clarify that the binary tree is balanced and that each node is one character.

I can say this is not true for myself, the problem really is coming up with something that people will buy, i have no idea what sort of things people would pay for, i see a lot of things that i think are useless that a lot of people pay/use

Good idea, i'm actually going to do this, quite useful. I don't know how you could profit from something like this though, i don't see a good reason why i should pay someone when i can do this with my own resources.

Why do you have to make this about you? That was just a general statement about how the vast majority of people is. If everyone reacted like you, we could never make a statement about anything since there's always an exception to anything o

It's nice to see someone come up and explain this on mainstream media. Although skimming over the comments, it doesn't look like the point got across very well.

This is pretty much textbook conspiracy, where a corrupt government arranges for someone to be locked up.

That looks like a sure fire way to make sure you only hire mediocre programmers.

I don't understand what the discussion is, the standard says the main function should have a return type of int, that should be the end of it, if some random beginner argues "but it works for me", there's not really much you can do, people

Thank you, it's not uncommon for me to get depressed thinking about how we, humans, are really fucked up and how the world could be a much better place, yet feeling helpless realizing how little i can do to change the system.

"It's not a good idea to pick up skydiving when you're in a burning plane and it's the only option." Well, if it's the only option apart from dying in a plane crash, I'd argue it's a very good idea.

It's great that you are going forward with your idea. From a user point of view of your application, my main concern would be privacy, how do you address this?

That would actually matter if Apple had good products. At least I can't stand the nazi experience that OS X is (i own a macbook, my first and last Apple product, now running Archlinux).

That is not the intended audience, it's a book about programming, not about some specific technology.

The problem is that doctor, dietitian, or nutritionist don't even agree with each other. Also, have you actually checked what the FDA nutritional recommendations are? They are really terrible advice that goes against actual science.

Then you have only proven that not eating results in feeling better than eating exactly what you used to, keeping everything else the same, not that not eating is better than eating independently of what you eat.

While those studies are useful, you can't argue with results, even if you have only tested it on yourself, it at least is true for you, even if you don't fully understand the mechanism.

This test is unfair, a lot of people have a really weird face and i can't even concentrate on the smile because i'm too busy going "WTF?" Edit: Wow i still got 18/20, wasn't expecting that

I find it very odd that CS graduates don't know C. I don't find it odd that people don't enjoy programming in C. At my univ the introductory programming course is taught using Scheme but there are plenty of course that use C, such as Algori

I regret immensely having bought a macbook (the only Apple product i own), i didn't know they were this nazi, this only reinforces my regret, i'm never buying an Apple product again.
