It depends on if you are trading up or down. If you are trading up, the house you are buying is more expensive than the house you are selling. In this case you want a down market. Yes, you get somewhat less for your existing house, but yo

In practice the market value of a house and the assessed value of a house (used to determine real estate taxes) are not as tightly correlated as one might assume.

Publish it on GitHub (or GitLab or your code hosting service of choice). Then answer any criticism about it by asking for a PR. To preempt code style complaints find a code formatter for your language and run everything through that first.

I think you would have to be funding a fork. I would point to LibreOffice and OpenOffice as an example.

VSCode never crashes for me. Slack crashes rarely for me. More often, it just becomes unusably slow. Spotify crashes multiple times a day on me. The music keeps playing however, so it's only an issue when I want to make a change. Is

I was playing with BASIC on a Wang PC in 1987 and today I write and maintain webapps using React (among other things). Perhaps you didn't mean it that way, but I found your comment demeaning.

The original reason webmasters (remember them?) were discouraged from using tables for layout is that you quickly ended up with many layers of nested tables. The browsers at the time were not performant enough to handle it and the user exp

Everybody goes through this kind of thing when they first encounter the definitions and symptoms of psychological disorders. It's just that at the moment TikTok is the medium and as usual people blame the medium for the message.

You should extrapolate that out a couple of hundred years and see what happens. Might make a good movie.

No, JNDI is an API for accessing remote code. It stands for Java Naming and Directory Interface. Not supporting LDAP, the most common remote directory, would have been a flaw. The flaw was in log4j's use of the library which allowed

I don't know if decreased immigration is a cause of the current situation, but it does strike me that increased immigration is a potential solution. Unfortunately it appears unlikely due to the political situation in the US.

I agree. My issue with browser extensions is, even if the author and code are trustworthy now, what's to stop the extension from being sold to unscrupulous folks years in the future?

Exactly. The square root of 2 had no more basis in reality than the so-called imaginary number i. Don't confuse the "real" in real numbers with reality, at this point it is just a name.

Thanks for the clarification. I was replying to the poster who was using: setState({...state, a: 4}) and so I assumed they were already operating in a class component.

The docs for setState say that if passed an object it will merge the current state and the object. So just do: setState({ a: 4 }) https://reactjs.org/docs/react-component.html#setstate

Completing the square teaches students something beyond just how to find the roots of quadratics. It teaches them that one approach to solving problems is to transform them into a problem they already know how to solve.

Once you have worked for a day, your employer owes you money. It is not an uncommon or foreign concept to charge interest on a debt that one is owed. That said, it would be unusual to apply that to wages. And many debts have grade periods

There are no fees with direct deposit, at least from the employee's standpoint. In fact, receiving funds via direct deposit is something that usually causes the bank to waive account fees in the US.

I question the notion that most employees do not want to be paid daily. If I am being paid via direct deposit, there is no inconvenience for me to be paid daily. And certainly cash workers, aka day laborers, demand to be paid daily.
