I think it's more because Valve has (from what I heard) a very principled founder, and that they never went public (and probably won't) so they don't have any shareholders to please with "growth".

I have no idea about Mihoyo (never even looked in their direction, save for looking up what it is), but gacha != F2P. Valve, even though their games have lootboxes, they got it [mostly] right by trying their best to make sure there's n

Not that young either. Reddit is 19 years old, Facebook and Gmail are 20, LinkedIn is 21, Google is 26, HN is 17. That's a lot of time, especially for the modern fast-paced timescale.

Why 4090, though? I read (and agree) that 3090 is generally considered to be the best bang for the buck: 24GB, priced at $800-1000 range, and giving decent TPS for LLMs.

I thought home use is whatever fits in 24GB (a single 3090 GPU, which is pretty affordable), not 8 or 16. 30B models fit.

Can someone help me to understand this concept? In particular, why so many people watch it - what drives them them do so? I'll try to explain my own vision, why I think I don't care - which, of course, is entirely subjective

I don't think this is nVidia issue. Wayland/nVidia woes are primarily about flickering, empty windows and other rendering problems. I may be wrong, but I believe HiDPI support is mostly hardware-independent issue.

Off-topic: thank you for the app! It's (subjectively, of course) by far the best weather widget out there - and I've tried a number of them. Really appreciate your work.

I don't think that's the issue with Wayland. X11 has fundamental design flaws, Wayland happened because of it. I believe the question is why Wayland happened so badly . Sure, nVidia shenanigans are contributing to bad fame, but a
