Yes, and everyone entering casino is aware that it is gambling . ICOs, on the other hand, is like entering a street shell game. Something non-regulated, where you are sure to get skinned.

I guess when it comes to testing, Intel has more resources to do that than most other folks. That's one of the reasons why I use MKL despite it not being open source (but it is free as in free beer).

We don't even have to guess, since that's exactly what Neanderthal does. Also, I micro-benchmarked lots of options and have yet to find one that fills similar use case that is faster than Neanderhtal+MKL on the CPU, regardless of

Not quite. At the bare minimum, the existence of markets and liquidity they provide is of tremendous value. Otherwise, how would those large corporations be able to acquire capital in the first place?

Author here. I hope I won't spoil the future, since I work at a university, but I am also a programmer, and these libraries and tutorials have been made to be 100% practical with the working programmers as the target audience.

I don't think it would be practical as a backend in Python, but for a Clojure equivalent of TensorFlow - certainly.

All of them do with 3-rd party libraries like JCuda. Bundling that into JVM is even a disservice to the user, because it is much more difficult to keep up to the newest CUDA features.

Even for NN alone, those few operations are not enough. Not only that, but to even understand what the operations that I need directly do, I need far more background knowledge of linear algebra.

But you're not the winner, and among winners, there are some willing to do the deal for some price. Even you. For example, you wouldn't want to keep $75K in your mattress. Would you keep $100K? $750K? A million?

Well, I argue that they did foresaw its business viability. They invested heavily in DL before any one of their competitors. Of course there were researchers everywhere working on that, but there are researchers working on everything. W
