It's absolutely possible. I actually implemented it the way I did more as an experiment to see if it was possible, and when it turned out that it was, decided that it was ridiculous enough to be awesome. I probably wouldn't ever u

If you're seriously considering switching to Linux, then be aware that nothing you find is going to feel as polished as OS X. Linux developers tend to be more focused on security and under-the-hood improvements while Apple focuses on u

Isn't the blockchain going to keep growing like that indefinitely _anyway_ if Bitcoin is successful? Unless there's a plan to reset it somehow, then a few valentine's day cards are, in the long run, going to be the least of y

I just don't get why GCC needs to cripple itself; shouldn't the (in)ability to incorporate GCC be handled by the license? It's a legal issue, not a technical one. Sure, making it easier to plug in to other programs enables pr

Looks interesting. A couple suggestions: 1. People have already suggested this, but it would make more sense to make users call email.New() rather than email.NewEmail(). 2. Alternatively, since the user will be populating a bunch of values

I'm really looking forward to Rust 1.0. It seems like an awesome language in many respects, not least of which because it's possible to write operating systems and other low-level software in, but the lack of stability will be kin

Yeah, my approach is definitely one of "get it done as quickly as possible for my specific use case", and since Allegro made its headers easy to parse, I decided to just take advantage of that. Maybe in the future I'll rewrit

This is awesome and kind of makes me want to get back into game programming. Unfortunately, I have no artistic ability whatsoever, and don't really have the time if I did.

Salesforce is an online CRM tool and development platform. From a programmer's point of view, it essentially includes the full stack from database to UI, but the API can be used to allow external programs to access its data. That said,

Depends on what you want out of learning a new language. If you want to become more familiar with the fundamentals of computers and how they work, C is the best option; if you want to learn a new paradigm and way of thinking, I recommend Ha

I don't claim to speak for everyone, but discussions like this feel counter-productive because there's nothing to really say , and no amount of text is going to accurately portray another person's experiences. At this point, these posts ar

Honestly, I don't even care about gun control laws, I just don't want packing heat to be a cultural norm. We Americans, on the whole, have a huge obsession with guns. They're iconic, from the wild west to world war II. We romanticize righte

I work under the assumption that there aren't any "bad guys," there are just people who wake up one day and snap. If somebody snaps, I would rather they not have a gun, even if they originally bought it for self-defense. But yes, I agree

That doesn't mean we should start encouraging everyone to carry guns, knives, diesel fuel, whatever. "More guns" isn't the solution any more than "fewer guns" is, but I would still feel safer if I knew that getting a gun was more difficul

gobject is built on top of glib, not the other way around, and it's mostly there to make it easier to create language bindings, so there's no real reason to use it (gobject) unless you're building a library like GTK. As for the typedefs, th
