I remember getting a Voodoo5 AGP, not knowing at the time that AGP and PCI were different. I couldn't use it for the first couple of months that I had it, and then upgraded the motherboard to one that could. I remember originally runni

This is discussed at length in (Breath)[0] which also discusses other things about how it's caused issues with breathing. [0]: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/48890486-breath

This is at least part of what Harold Finch was trying to prevent with his Machine in (Person of Interest)[0]. Having it have access to all of the data was bad enough, but being able to ask it any question you wanted was always a terrifying

Not exactly what you're asking for, but [Ecologi]( https://ecologi.com/ ) is doing lots of work on the tree-planting front, but also doing other work that helps with climate change, like solar panel setups in Morocco, wi

We used to do two week on-call rotations (to follow along with sprint/release cadence). At the beginning of '23, one of our devs asked to be full-time on-call, both because they had sleep issues and so would regularly be awake at

php deals with this by using the username/organization name of a repository as the namespace name of packages. At least then you're having to squat something further up the food chain.

I'm curious about some specifics of why you wouldn't use PHP for _critical_ web infrastructure?

At some point, a bigger computer either doesn't exist or is too cost prohibitive to get. But getting lots of "small" computers is somewhat easier.

You're not. Though on a recent vacation, one of my kids only had access to cable and absolutely loved the randomness of what was available.

The context was the silent-ness of I vs H, not what rolls off the tongue. I agree that I Pyle rolls better, though.

I started worrying about the `+` address functionality as well, so I set up postfix aliases with `me.%@domain` (I use postgres for domains/aliases/accounts) and then have my virtual_alias_map run the query `SELECT a1.goto FROM ali

Even knowing what the R in RNN stands for requires some pre-existing knowledge of neural networks. Which isn't something that's helping _me_ learn about them, particularly.

This seems like it might be interesting to me if I already had some understanding of neural networks. Unfortunately for me, I can't even complete the RNN because there's nothing to even suggest what I'm missing when I connect

I've been using neovide for a few months now, and my biggest gripe is that there's not an easy way to automagically open a new file in an existing neovide window as a tab. With macvim I could do `--remote-tab-silent` and it was ha

Something I always wonder about when Voyager has these issues is this: how long would it take for a probe launched today to catch up to Voyager? I assume there are better engines now, better capability for payload launch, better fuels, etc.
