I fail to see what's the point of ethereum/blockchain here. The proof of score must be given by the server (otherwise how would you prevent the score fabrication after the fact?), then owners of the service can always fabricate co

I'm a Bitcoin enthusiast, yet the whole crypto-ecosystem is ridden with crooks and frauds trying to make money of suckers. Altcoins that are obvious scams, services that have "accidental" bugs and loose your money, services t

I really like it. However given how confusing for my Vim muscle memory a switching would be, I would have to make sure the ecosystem around it is good enough. Basic programming languages highlights and completions and similar tools.

Definitely. As a dominant platform owner they can push everyone to bend over backwards all the time. And they will since any fab and power savings will be totally worth it for the user, even if they marginal.

Some comments miss the point. I don't think it's a suggestion that x86 has too much documentation or too much transistors. It just gives a picture in to how the hardware exploded in capacity, complexity and so on. Which is great (

I don't get it. In 2016, on i7 with 32GB of RAM, 2 stripped SSDs, emacs (spacemacs actually) still takes around 1-2s to start which forces me to use emacsclient, and that is already the second stage of it's initialization started

Mentors are hard to come by. I'd personally say that mentors don't have to be more senior or wiser or anything in particular. Just be a friendly, likeable person and listen to other people. Anyone cooworker that you respect can te

Surprisingly for myself I'm going to write a comment defending Apple somewhat. First specs - are we real tech people, or ignorant crowd? RAM is not only the amount of it. Previous MacBooks had 1066MHz memories, current one 1866MHz/

Rust will be if is not already faster than C. Especially in real-life projects. One example would be https://github.com/BurntSushi/ripgrep Aliasing rules in C make some optimizations not possible in C. Good luck puttin

So you want to say that some arcane chain of commands that I have to remember is as good as `cargo run` to run `cargo install name` to install? `pip` and Python are riddled with problems. Native modules fail to compile all the time and sinc

This article is very short and shallow. I mean... you can apply it to any architecture that Qemu supports (and there are many). Altogether there are 2 assembler instructions in the whole article. Not much of an exploration... Qemu usermode

Embedded dev here too. I worked mostly on bigger (processing power-wise) systems. Actually as big embedded as you can find (PC-level performance), I toy with smaller ones as a hobby. :) 1. That is kind of true but only in tiny systems. Havi
