Boy, if this wasn't literally true before, it's going to be literally true now. One very refreshing thing about VR metaverse apps like Altspace (which just shut down) was that they were very much populated by real people since it

I'm interested in what you expected vs. what you have seen? The goalposts have been dancing all over the place lately with everyone I talk to.

It is not. Every 6 months, I type back in my credit card number tap a button to load the eSim. Literally nothing else I have to do. I also can let my service lapse when I am not in the country.

It's going to take a big tech company or partnership wit a tech company to compete in this space, given the massive compute requirements. Apple is a hardware company and it's doubtful they will ever be a direct competitor. Google

Check out visible, which is a Verizon sub brand. 25 bucks if you are ok with being deprioritized, 35 if you want high priority. I think it’s the next best deal on the market after Mint, and if t-mobile doesn’t work well in your area, you ar

I use Mint. The only reason I use it is because they are a price leader for the whole industry. They run regular promotions and I get service for about 8 bucks a month. I have been cycling through their new customer promotions for years. My

To me that is an oxymoron. Humans are the source of meaning and value. Nothing could make us worthless. We are the ones who assign value, without us the concept does not exist.

This is actually an excellent point. Also why I think we will eventually all be back in the open office, even though I enjoy working in my pajamas.

It is pretty close now. I got access through Poe. The censorship is light as long as you avoid sex and violence. It can do some sex though, for example I was able to generate a collection of pillow talk for a specific cultural context.

Have access to both. Bing feels like a shackled version of GTP-4 with convenient prompt automation. You can see moments of GTP-4 power, but they are buried beneath the AI ethics and brand safety. If you formulate a prompt carefully, you can

Prompt: My business partner had an idea to create an AI model that would rewrite your emails to be more emotionally intelligent, and to suck up better to your boss. His theory was that most workers are self important, jerks, and have diffic

I think it can actually do all those things reasonably well. I’d like to start getting meeting summaries that tell me my action items based on a transcript. And it can generate infinite boot-licking butt kissing if you just ask it. Generate

Yes, I am trying to separate out complexity of reasoning from knowledge base and speed. A language model is like a person who has access to Google and several hours or days to research a response. Even a model with poor reasoning, ability c

GPT 3.5 was certainly not, even though it knew a great many facts, it was like a 12 year old child with a search engine. GPT-4 feels like an adult of average intelligence, again with a search engine. But it’s fast and it never gets tired or

These tools cannot act on their own and still need professionals to be responsible for their application. If the promise of LLMs comes true, there will be much new work created in tuning models and integrating them into every worker’s job i

I think this equally applies to all knowledge workers. LLMs are not going to cut the human out of the loop just yet, but building them into the workflow is going to end up being so powerful that anyone not using an LLM will be uncompetitive

How are you going to do training on that machine in a reasonable amount of time? Most of the utility of these models are unlocked after fine tuning.

First catch is that someone needed to spend the enormous up front cost to train the base model, then release it under a flexible enough license for your use case. The second catch is that you would get much higher quality out of the 65b mod
