I am no expert on this but the article suggested that the database of named photos was the hardest part to obtain for an individual. Since you would (probably) most value a database of people you have met before, a self generated database

My favorite part: "Japan’s other barriers, like regulations and design criteria that effectively keep out American-made cars and light trucks, would come down" Take our crappy cars Japan! I also didn't realize the US had a la

Just search 40w laser engraver on ebay and you should get several hits around $400. Mine is working great after some mods. Mods: ~$25 for 8ft ground rod and wire ~ $35 for 24V DC power supply( includes 5 volt supply because I blow out the

I use Visual studio to write c# apps for my day job(love it). My Linux development had been polar opposites of spending days getting a embedded arm toolchain to compile and using vim to make a .c file an typing gcc main.c -o HelloWorld .

The "cheese from yeast" example the article is taking about represents cell based experiments. The discoveries will be more like 3d printing with DNA. Structures, food and clothing made by microbes. The existing companies are

I am curious about your third point. From my understanding solar panels are 99% sand. I searched around a little and all I could find is that the thin film type need Tellurium. The rarity of Tellurium is comparable to that of platinum.

I disagree. I think we have more understanding of the physical world (physics) then we do the complex human interactions that make up society (politics) and the economy (business). To me the fact the latter fields are not well described a

That is good to hear. I used Arch and loved it until that upgrade thing you mentioned a few years ago. It basically made a machine I had unusable so I stopped using Arch altogether. Maybe it is time to go back.

Landscaping typically accounts for half of all residential water use. To some the value of a lawn is close to zero. Saving 5% of all water use by eliminating something with close to zero value is a huge gain.

I disagree. I think we find identity in our car because we a pilot them in a similar way we pilot our bodies. As we get less involved in the control of the vehicle, we will care less about how it looks/feels. Taxi cabs are a good ex
