I don't agree on some points here. I don't think anyone reasonable is claiming that the 1% is bankrupting the middle class. The observation is that middle class earnings have been stagnant and even deteriorating over the last decades. That'

I think it's below 10%, to be fair. Anyway, I don't have a number. I'm not an economist. Modern governments need to run deficits during recessions / depressions, and surpluses during good times. Or at least that's what history has shown, in

Businesses (via surveys) have always complained about regulations, taxes, etc. While some regulations may be burdensome or unrealistic (and lets keep in mind that the federal government isn't responsible for all of them), the fact is a lot

I have a similar disclaimer: personal weight loss, no reddit. The main point of this post: I was under the impression that high-protein diets are not healthy over the long term. That such diets lead to health problems because of the high pr

Do OEM's even provide an option for a clean install (i.e., Windows OS + drivers - bloatware)? I'm fairly sure their factory restore discs are bloatware ridden, too. And for an average consumer, the idea of doing a clean install is something

It's also worth to note that the EU is checking into Windows 8 RT concerning no JIT access for other browsers as an extension of their Windows 7 agreement [1]. Considering Windows RT will be a minority player in the marketplace, with Apple

I live in DC. It was an amazing storm. A transformer in my area went down fairly quickly. Fortunately, I live near a large hospital.

I couldn't care less about cars. But I love this show, their banter, and their ability to deduce the problem.

As a very new listener (as of like 15 minutes ago), I was happy to chip in a bit. Already hooked to the ambient station. Even though it seems they'd prefer never to have ads, I wouldn't mind them having a few advertisements at the top of ev

Just because I haven't used either, doesn't mean I cannot speculate. I didn't claim to be the preeminent expert. "CQL aims to be an easier way to read and write to Cassandra databases. CQL was designed to closely resemble SQL, easing the bu

I'm not experienced in using MongoDB or a relational database like MySQL, but from the examples I've seen, MongoDB (using mongoose) seems easier to use for javascript developers than CQL using SQL-like syntax.

I'm a newbie, although I feel somewhat informed on these subjects (although not skilled in coding). Anyway, I like the idea of using javascript everywhere. I plan on building smaller apps that are only client side. But I wonder if there is

I should be clear, I have used Ubuntu since 5.04 (Debian before that and I used Mint for a bit, too). I'm not saying Ubuntu or other distros are bad. Some releases have been fairly well executed. But they generally don't introduce anything

I used to spend (i.e., waste) time reading linux blogs, each touting innovations in Ubuntu, et al. on the desktop. These "innovations" were anything but sorely needed or outdated features / programs (look at basically any media player). The
