Ah ok good, that means you won't fix the caching..."feature" that I found. :) Thanks for the discussion!

Good question, and thank you for the question. Both at the time of my initial development several years ago, and including now when I just tested it, scraping has faster response times (cache invalidations) to profile updates than the API.

It's a powerful idea but say I'm a website that wants to add "Sign In With HN". Me personally I've lost faith with "Sign In With Facebook/Google/etc.", nevermind some random site offering sign in

I'm doing something similar with my service https://aytwit.com/thoughter There is a trick to busting the cache but I almost don't want to say it in case they fix it lol. Feel free to contact me directly.

Bitcoin is like the " http:// " of cryptocurrency. Public balances, public transactions. We need that little "s" on the end. Taproot doesn't come anywhere close. Monero and PirateChain are the leading &quo

Interesting I had not heard of SCRT. The others I've vetted pretty deeply but of course I could be missing something. Everyone do your own research of course and it'll be interesting to see which one(s) win.

Good analogy with http. But keep going. After http people realized the importance of https. Sending credit card numbers and passwords in cleartext over the Internet was clearly a bad idea. So what is https in this analogy? Monero, PirateCha

There is at least $625,000[1] on the table already. Not to mention how many blockchain analytics companies and other actors would pay millions to have such a capability. [1] https://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb

See my peer comment. You can "synthesize" gold pretty easily. I agree most people don't consider this when buying gold though. So "stronger belief" is still accurate. Unfortunately unscrupulous people make fortunes

I get what you're saying of course, but as a fun counterpoint, I gave my brother $50 worth of Monero for Christmas and he has absolutely no idea how cryptocurrencies work, had never heard of Monero. I simply wrote out instructions on a

I'll take that as a compliment. Indeed I was "taught" poorly and so educated myself. If you're trying to prevent repeating history it doesn't matter as much what the number is. It matters how you allow a society to

To summarize the major issue, we're taught in schools the results of something like Nazi Germany, 6 million died in camps, Hitler was a psychopath, etc., all the details of how horrible it was and how we can never let it happen again
