You can DOS a DNS server if it accepts TCP connections. This is why most people don't accept TCP connections on their DNS servers.

It probably cannot be made to work with flash (without Adobe's help.) To build a p2p system like this, you need greater access to the OS than the flash sandbox will allow. The only way to get this is through a browser plugin. Octoshape had

I've never sent a thank you note. I've received maybe 1 from the ~200 interviews I've conducted in 15 years. ( The candidate that sent it was awful.) Is anyone offended if they don't receive one ?

What about crowd sourcing the data collection ? Make an app to let sports fans enter the data as they watched the game and publish it under a CC license ? I've been to many baseball games where I've seen people keeping score on paper while

I use an old ppc mac mini and openvpn to do remote timemachine backups. It works pretty well and was pretty easy to setup.

Pittsburgh, PA (Oakland, Squirrel Hill) is a great place. Housing close to the city can be found pretty cheap. CMU, Pitt Med School, RAND. It definitely has topography. Has a small biotech community.
