I stopped using the realtime database once firestore was released in beta. So haven't experienced the downtime you have demonstrated in the status graphs, but Firebase's SLA [1] for realtime database apparently guarantees service

You're good with the name. Don't overthink it now - it sounds business-y alright. If parent's logic were to prevail, no company name would end in 'soft' (since Microsoft) either. Doesn't hold.

Still a large risk, even though this was authored in 2014. I would be surprised if extensions that "read and change content on all websites you visit" haven't yet been used in some wide-scale account/identity compromise

Extensions can specify if they want read/change access to only one domain (or more). This extension could have specified medium.com alone.

with no privacy policy link or info on how long the documents are stored on the server. Stuff like receipts, etc to be converted to PDF will contain customers' information - not to be put on a site with no info on how it's used.
