Aside from the main topic of the post, I thought the use of a "precommitment", also known as a commitment scheme[1], was interesting [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commitment_scheme

The exuberant language used is totally normal and common for this kind of legal filing. This is a (fairly common) example of where HN and legal matters don't mix - HN is awesome because lots of really smart people can exchange ideas ba

It really depends on what kind of company you are negotiating with. Companies of a certain size will have salary bands and they can't pay above a certain amount otherwise they risk salary imbalances within teams. Small startups may be

Really, you should just buy a CB/VHF radio. As someone commented above, iPhones are not rugged enough for the kinds of use you might need such a radio in. And batteries can be changed/etc. They really are not expensive.

Technically it isn't clear what visa foreign YC founders should use to stay in the US during the 3 months. Visa waiver[0] only allows for meetings, attending a conference, attend short-term unpaid training or negotiate a contract.

I'm suggesting, hypothetically, such a dump would be an on-going release of data rather than a one-time and ad-hoc dump. Hypothetically there may be more facets of data not provided to cities, etc.
