This post makes a call to action and a lot of claims while providing no evidence. Seems like click farming to me.

I’m not sure about Ethereum PoW, but in Bitcoin you absolutely pick the chain with the most work not the longest chain that’s a consensus rule. This is how bitcoin/PoW avoids weak subjectivity, the problem described by the parent comme

This does not work on bitcoin. Bitcoin’s difficulty targeting algorithm only retargets every 2016 blocks. This attack is only possible for diff target algos that retarget within a single block slot.

The reason frontend dev moves "So quickly" is because of new browser developments & capabilities. Esbuild & vite are currently popular because they are one of the first build tools to fully utilize browser ES Modules. This

Love this! It would be amazing if you added a date query string so that you could share this link with a friend you think is wasting their time! :)

Believe it or not… it’s on bitcoin. It’s fascinating watching a largely un-steared bitcoin attempt to scale.

My guess is you haven’t used bitcoin a while. You could easily get away with paying 1sat/vbyte (< $1 for a typical transaction) for over 2 years now. While the 2nd part of your statement is on the surface true, it misses the point.

TLDR people are throwing capital at mining companies because they want traditional financial access to bitcoin gains. Mining companies will reach their proper evaluation when a bitcoin spot ETF is available to investors.

No, PoW is the point of cryptocurrencies. PoS coins are not censorship resistant.

Sorry to break this too you but bitcoin would need to be banned by a serious amount of governments to have any real effect on energy consumption. This is by design. The wiser policy choice is to incentivize the large mining farms in your co

A feature of bitcoin is it’s stubborn system stability and resistance to change :) One of the odd benefits of this is that old forum posts and discussions have a good chance of being relevant. Although I will say lots of progress has been m

With no RBF how will you prevent TX's from getting stuck in a high fee environment? I know BCH thinks block space should be unlimited which means TX fees will never get high but i don't think the economics works out there.
