TBH, Zuck's version didn't mention anything web3/crypto related, it's just a walled garden in Oculus VR.

Well with somewhat justified mockery for his metaverse vision. Meta's reality lab isn't doing too good. minus Quest/Quest2, the execution for XR is just really sloppy, even John Carmack can't stand the pace of Meta[1], f

If they don't misuse it(which they always do). For "ad" purpose only I don't see much of an issue. Targeted ads are nice(compared to untargeted one).

It is really hard to be "Open Source" and "Non-profit" in the same time without the company delve into political grandstanding and being on a leash of other for-profit(i.e. Mozilla)

As a SWE this is uplifting for many managements use Musk/Twitter as example to squeeze us. This is selfish, but the worse Twitter burn, the less higher ups think of cheap out on software.

While I share the sentiment for OP but at the same time I am feeling the excitment for what it will bring us next. I guess after 2-3 years of "Web3"(when it isn't)/Metaverse. The feeling of some tech that really changed

Some of the gatekeeper might be out. Now OpenAI(or whoever controls it down the line) have the complete monopoly. Not that I am denying the future(Nasper in the 00s proved that). I am wondering what's the next best course as an individ
