Your link answers your question: "Vegetarian supplementation with creatine seems to be especially beneficial as they appear to have lower average body stores, since meat is a primary source of dietary creatine."

I know someone who found journaling cured severe RSI, when nothing else worked. I learned about this on HN and was skeptical, but lots of people had testified that it helped them, so I passed the recommendation on - amazingly it did work.

There is far more demand than supply for developers right now. If there are other equivalent employers available to you, you don't have to do anything other than politely insist on market rate, and be fully prepared to walk away if the

I was pushed hard on this last time I was interviewing. We danced around a bit, with them requesting and me declining, until they said they must have my previous salary because it is their policy. So I responded that it was my policy not to

The issue is that solving real problems is hard, but making things complicated is easy, fun, and looks a lot like solving real problems if you aren't paying careful attention.

Agreed, enforcing standing up but not brevity is the worst way to do standups, and a clear sign of pure cargo-culting.

Looking at the name I thought this was going to be some kind of wiki-encyclopedia of bullshit, where people could submit reasons why any given thing is bullshit. Am a little disappointed actually, that would be a handy reference. Though nat

People pay for things according to the value they provide, not the cost to the provider. If this provides $1k/year of value that no other provider can replicate, it is a good deal. (Thanks patio11 for drumming this into my head!)

Preferences differ then, in changing roles I moved from an X1 to MBP and it felt like a step backwards; heavy, ugly and poorer keyboard.

Looks like rents are down a little but not too dramatic: https://homelet.co.uk/homelet-rental-index/london?range=24 This isn't too surprising, since I think London rents were seriously testing what the market woul

Hah, I was similarly pleased by finishing with exactly 59.5% - the threshold for a 2:1 in the UK system, meaning I hadn't wasted any energy on getting higher marks than necessary.

Are people in America seriously getting offers of $120k with no degree, no experience, and not even a side-project? That is mind-blowing. In London, probably the biggest/richest market outside of USA, that sort of salary is beyond what

I was curious so I did a quick bit of Googling: Since 2013 councils can levy an “empty homes premium” of an additional 50% council tax [1]. No idea how many actually do. The rate of unoccupied dwellings in London is 1.7% [2] 1. https:/

That hiring is broken seems to be the one thing HN can agree on. Looking for my next role at the moment, I'm having to use up a lot of energy just resisting the urge to think about doing a hiring startup. It seems like such a ripe targ
