There was recent news(April/March) about Norwegian actually running extremely low on cash to a point of bankruptcy and the airline laid off like 90% of their workforce due to Covid19 pandemic and lack of flights/demand.

You’re right about the advantages of Haskell regarding side-effect strictness and refactoring. That’s a huge win. I think now that I have significant experience with OCaml it’d make going back to Haskell easier for me. That’s probably somet

It holds less closely to the ideal of being a purely functional language. It gets out of my way and let’s me get things done. But I think I misspoke a bit. A big part of what has made OCaml better for me is that the tooling has been easier

I learned Haskell and then moved to OCaml and found it to be a much more practical language. Haven’t tried Lisp yet, but it’s quickly moving to the top of my list.

I recently got into OCaml (and ReasonML) and wrote a blog post with my experiences. In it I recommend several resources for both languages and explain some stuff that wasn't obvious to me as a beginner: http://donut2d.tumblr

Reason is just a dialect of OCaml and actually uses the BuckleScript[1] compiler, which before ReasonML, just took OCaml code and transpiling it to JavaScript. It's known for being super fast and generating fast and small JavaScript. B

You've got a JetBrains IDE working with OCaml? What plugin are you using with which IDE? The only plugin[1] I've seen seems to be 7 years out of date. [1]: https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/4986-ocaml-suppo

I used to find the first example more difficult to read until I learned Haskell. Now I find it much more explicit about what's happening. In the first example, because I know what "map" means, I know that `Person.init` is app

I'm a one man operation keeping a master-slave setup with a manual failover and it's been pretty smooth sailing once I got it setup. Don't know how much more complex master-master would be.

I've seen issues in MS Edge with HLS on other services as well. Safari seems to have excellent HLS support. Haven't had any issues with Safari and Twitch.

I recently ran into this. I was putting an SVG into an <img> tag and sized it with CSS. In every other browser, it worked as expected. The SVG filled the space and stretched to the set dimensions. In EDGE, the SVG appeared tiny at the

Let's Encrypt is a certificate authority and provides certificates and so it would be end-to-end. However, CloudFlare is not end-to-end unless the server already supports HTTPS.

Version 3.0 is supposed to have a much stabler API going forward. They've been making a lot of changes even since 2.2 that really clean up the standard library.

Check out VeniceX[1]. It provides Go-style concurrency. The same group[2] that is working on this is also working on a GCD based concurrency library but the name escapes me at this time. [1]: https://github.com/VeniceX/

I've built a few simple apps running on Linux that have worked great. Check out Zewo[1]. They've been doing a lot of great work to make Swift 3.0 on the server work really well. Also, check out VeniceX[2] for concurrency and Open
