That is weird. It decides to flip a column by summing up the vector distances between the pixels in that column vs. the pixels in the previous column. I'm wondering if that since there is so much gray in the painting, this causes a lar

The output for that version of the painting looks similar. I just image searched for "kupka" and tried a few different results. Result for your image: http://imgur.com/fp9i8BP Do you think I should update the repo

Huh still confused somehow, sorry. This is the input https://github.com/ardila/paintingReorganize/blob/master/inp... My script moves the pixels of that image around to get this output https://

For some paintings I think you can get a sense of what paints the painter used.

The script merely remaps the pixels in the input to new locations via PCA. I'm not 100% sure I know what you mean by "2 guys" or "color the writing".

Yes, it's very tricky to take an action as complex as the decision to cheat on emissions test and boil down numbers describing the damage done to society. Having numbers like "they killed 59 people" certainly makes it easier

Actually yes, a carbon tax that priced in externalities such as excess deaths would be a great idea and many people in this thread would support it.

1. I am not an expert here, but unless you are too I wouldn't refute claims made by peer-reviewed publications without at least offering an argument against the analysis made. http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1

Convolutional neural nets are the most accurate model of the ventral stream, numerically speaking. See work by Yamins, DiCarlo etc.

The problem is there is a lot of gray area. In fact I think there is probably more utility in spelling out the cases where privacy is not a concern. Captcha is a good, specific example. However releasing that training data would break the s

How do you balance your suggestion of requiring user data be shared with maintaining user privacy?

This seems to be another argument in favor of the model proposed here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9226497 Split revenue per individual amongst artists, instead of splitting total revenue amongst artists.

So maybe we just have to figure out the right redirectUrl? I imagine that when you login with the right user account a different redirectUrl would get passed back. I see no way of finding that out what that URL is though, short of someone w

Put more simply, you can redefine the handleAuth function to automatically set the allow property to true window.handleAuth=function(a){ a.allow = true; a.logoutUrl?window.location.href=a.redirectUrl:window.location.
