It's hard to distinguish cheap larger; it is relatively easy to distinguish microbrewed ale though.

Just FYI, I updated the site with a redirect at the start for those specifically expecting language tutorials. Thanks for your feedback, it was very helpful.

No, the majority (around 80% of Haskell programs) use the BSD3 license.

Remember guys, this is an introduction to the Haskell ecosystem, and expected coding practices. It's not a tutorial about Haskell. Also, needs a couple of little updates (e.g. github didn't exist when we wrote this).

For those who've not seen equational reasoning used to write programs (or do simple proofs on them), here's an example from SO this week: * http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5710078/in-haskell-perfor... Algebra of Programming FTW! See Ri

Oh, I'm certainly not arguing that you're going to beat hand tuned straightline code. I'm just pointing out that dropping into assembly isn't the only possibly path.

Note that darcs implements the "expected" or "naive" semantics, at the cost of edge cases that have exponential time (rather than going ahead with unflagged inconsistent merges).

Yep, the GHC release notes describe some important bug fixes (particularly the XCode 4 issue affected a lot of users): http://haskell.org/ghc/docs/7.0.3/html/users_guide/release-7...

Haskell is the #15 most popular language on GitHub. Scala (17), Clojure (19), Erlang (20), Go (30), OCaml (31), F# (#37). Which surprises me, since a lot of the community uses darcs..
