Am I going nuts, or is that photo in the linked article, not of Linus?

That is one option, yeah. I wouldn't do it in this example though. I'd keep it as Mail.

Not the OP, but yes I imagine that's what they did. But Mail would probably be created further up (probably at the top level in the main function), and passed to send_alerts, rather than created inline. I use this approach in all my Ha

I have prime and high trust factor. MM for me at least, is full of cheaters. ESEA has been a much nicer experience. I never see sketchy stuff.

Not this particular motor, no. But you can bet people will be swapping these into racecars all the same. I'd love an electric powered track car.

Not a finance expert, but I don't think the transaction costs would factor would they? You would own "units" in the fund, rather than the underlying security itself. The makeup of the unit however, would be dynamic

Interesting idea. I wonder if this could be incorporated into some sort of test runner for testing API components. Emit a structured summary of responses that the tests generate

Hmm. This is a very common functional programming pattern in languages like Haskell and Scala. You define an AST representing your domain, using native, simple types, usually structured as a tree. Then you just write code...

What empty space? When I arrived at work, I work intensely, and hard. None of us want to be longer than we need to accomplish our work. Occasional chit chat while making coffee is definitely not slowing us down in any meaningful way. Except

I was a lead/senior developer of a team of ~10 (in a startup of 30). I was involved heavily in the direction of the company, as well as the day to day running of my team. I now work remotely with a 15 hr time difference. Nowadays I fee

I am full time remote for past 6mo. Never been less productive in my career. I'm looking to switch back to onsite as soon as I can. Edit: I'm not saying remote is bad - just that in my experience I'm definitely less productiv

Awesome. Love the blog post. I learnt Haskell using the NES ( http://github.com/dbousamra/hnes ). Definitely recommend doing your own.

Thanks, this is some useful insight. Can you perhaps talk a little about what your team and the teams around you are working on? What are the problems you are trying to solve? Happy to take this to another forum, if you don't want to t
