I think that Nim satisfies many of the items on your list. Have you taken a look at it? Specifically, it's a very good C replacement as it compiles to C. So you can easily run it on all of those embedded architectures. While I must adm

   > and for a -b to get parsed as a(-b) It almost looks like you're suggesting that `a -b` will be parsed as a*(-b). Let me just clarify, that is not the case. With the 'strongSpaces' feature, `a -b` results in a compile-tim

   In addition to the heavyweight threads ( http://nim-lang.org/docs/threads.html ) there is also `spawn` ( http://nim-lang.org/docs/manual.html#parallel-spawn-spawn-st... , http://nim-lang.or

You are correct in saying that Nim does have C style pointers (ptr keyword). These are unsafe, but are meant to be used as part of the FFI. So when developing ordinary applications you should not be using them, unless you absolutely have to

There is no way that any language can truly replace C at this point, C will still be around for the foreseeable future. We should learn to coexist with it not replace it.

I'm not the author but I don't see why not, you can just have an extra param to the "op" template.

Nim has channels too (although I think they need replacing). There is also spawn which is similar to Goroutines in some ways: http://nim-lang.org/0.11.0/manual.html#parallel-spawn-spawn-...
