I think now days you really want to have 3 factor authentication for e-mail. It is a gateway to just about anything you do online!

I use it. I like that I don't have to worry about scalability and administration is a breeze. I'm happy with it! Been using it since 2009.

I wanted to target the casual player who play 1 or 2 tables. Basically someone like me! PT/HM are bit too complicated and overkill (in my opinion at least)

Only yourself. It's a javascript app using the FileReader API, so it doesn't do any server interaction when calculating the stats. Just gets the player ratings from the server.

Couldn't think of anything worse than having to talk to people when in the middle of a bout. I'm sure it'd be helpful, just that it ain't gonna happen.

I remember the bad ol' days of having to support that browser. It wasn't compatible with it's windows counterpart and the 0.5% userbase were highly vocal if anything broke.

A signed applet can do pretty much anything an executable app can do if the user gives it permission. I built a little zip utility applet years ago that accesses the file system, ezyzip.com. Still works even though the signature is expired.

Why bother with s3? Just setup cloudflare directly with heroku (or GAE). Then setup HTML caching with page rules. Its relatively new. Works great!

I don't think computer and collider technology necessarily correlate. The ISR collider was built over 40 years ago. People aren't generating exotic subatomic particles in their backyard quite yet.
