Ah. So do you think I’m wrong about his assessment as a cold blooded operative who only supported Civil Rights because it was good political strategy that would give him more power?

You clearly are ignorant of LBJ’s life. I suggest that you read his biography and expand your mind.

Well said. I’m amazed by how blind history is to LBJ’s racist roots. LBJ was a life-long cold blooded political operative. His “courage” was strategic. And it worked.

I really liked this comparison. You might be right! Can you say more? For example: 1. Back in the day, in the US, easy pre-made home meals were the rage. Frozen meals. Microwave dinners. Meals from a can. I don’t mean, “yeah, sure, we

Blaming a drug addiction is not equal to blaming the drug user. The alleged victim is an unfortunate drug abuser.

I’m not blaming the alleged victim. I’m blaming the drug (alcohol). I’m also blaming the company (MSFT) for encouraging consumption of that drug. Ask yourself — if a company really cared about preventing sexual assault, why would they

Yeah, where I’m reading online reviews and sold statistics, I always have to mentally normalize for the fact that most people just buy the cheapest item. I wish sites like Amazon had a feature such as “people who buy similar quality items t

Thanks for the link. That article makes this intriguing point: “But you shouldn't overstate that value. The reason that Blackstone made money on its credit-default swaps is not just that they were triggered by this clever maneuver. Jus

This sounds like a fairly obvious scenario that the lawyers who define the CDS would’ve considered. Is that true?

Some Politico statistics about Conyers and Moore cannot be used to make the conclusion that “Republicans are also less likely to believe allegations.”

Oh I hadn’t seen podchaser. Thanks. Unfortunately, the value is in the execution. I don’t want to bash podchaser, which is clearly labeled as being in beta, but: 1. I don’t like its emphasis on the user community — interacting with other po

I want an IMDB of podcasts. More specifically, I want to: 1. Enter (or click on) a person’s name, and see every associated podcast episode, 2. For any podcast, and podcast episode, see every associated person, including their role (host, gu

Exactly. Add that to the long list of reasons for working hard to earn more money. It's not just about the bigger house and the faster car -- it's also to get treated by the best doctor. The alternative mechanism amounts to &quo

The way I read the article, AMZN is simply trying to bring additional vendors, from India, onto their platform. Doing so will give consumers greater choice. I don't see how that effort is related to Walmart or eBay.

I’ve been flying roughly 10 times a year for the past 20 years. I also groan about many of the current show-for-theater mechanisms in airport security. That said, I think the experience will reach new all-time highs in the next 10 years.
