I don't disagree the problem is solved - I the problem in the UK is humidity is quite high most of the time and most houses don't have HVAC and there seems to be a complete lack of knowledge around ventilation - very little though

There isn't really much to do - you've already concluded negotiation of salary - your choice will be take what they offer or walk. Your problem is you have only just worked out you negotiated poorly.

The quality of SO has deteriorated rapidly over the last few years. I think the rot started when they brought I the careers section. People more interested in gaming it to get a job then help each other out.

Something that always seems to get missed is successful projects are linked to motivation. If everyone in the project is motivated to make it a success it's more likely to be. Use an old technology none of the programmers are intereste

The mistake was not using BT for a new connection - Openreach is 100% owned by BT- Sky is one of their main competitors. My experience is that BT installations get prioritized and dealt with more efficiently and go the extra mile, everyone
