I didn’t see any mention of panel output power or efficiency, but I imagine even with huge efficiency gains, they’re going to have a tough time collecting enough sunlight from tiny panels.

That is much less of a concern with a propane generator, due to fewer issues with longer term fuel storage and carburation than gasoline generators. Batteries still require maintenance, and regular starting, fuel and oil checks are all a go
