As someone who is just starting to learn to code, this is an interesting list, but I can't help but want more info. The "why" each language is preferred is missing. Obviously some of this is in the comments, but summarizing that text will t

It might seem like a productivity win, but it may also be a creativity loss. A recent book by Jonah Lehrer http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0547386079/theeconomi... (I found out about it via The Economist http://www.economist.com/n

I clicked on "Archival Database" and then "Find" (with no input) to see all documents. Using the filters on the right, I was then able to filter for Author = "Albert Einstein", Language = "English", and Digital Object = "Digitized Documents

Thanks for sharing your usage - I don't think dating sites are one-size-fits-all, and it's great to hear that you've made them work for you. I love your idea of not having a picture up there. So simple, yet probably hugely helpful for you.

Aren't we also talking about a tiny sample size with the Knicks? And one of those games I believe he had 8 turnovers. That could easily be skewing these early numbers. Is there any evidence of turnover concern from his time at Harvard?

As someone who recently started learning to code, I would agree with that statement wholeheartedly. Learning how the pieces fit together is the most difficult part, by far.

I concur - please put pricing in the FAQ. It's a great service, you shouldn't hide the cost. Maybe I'm missing it on the front page, but I couldn't find the price anywhere (and only saw that the download is free, which is different from the

I'm curious about the RFS's: Is YC still looking for responses to all 9? Are there any in particular you feel have been met, and any that have disappointed in solutions?

Love that people are responding positively to this. I shared the idea with my brother, and we're going to try to throw something together in our spare time over the next week. If anyone's interested in helping out (I'd say we're most in nee

I wonder if you can truly approach movies like start-ups. What would it look like to build an MVP for a movie? Is that the script? How do you get enough people to look at it to truly evaluate the concept? Perhaps this is why books that sell

I would love to see a simple service that groups people who are willing to commit to getting up at the same time each day in order to hold each other accountable. There doesn't need to be anything significant - maybe it's just a matching se

One might think asking people what value they would get would be a good idea - making sure there is in fact some audience that would pay. There are a lot of really cool things I'd like to have, but that doesn't mean I'd pay for all of them.

Love that this was on top of HN this morning. Personally, step 1 is simply knowing what your employees are doing, what out of that they like, and what they want to be doing. Then jointly develop a plan to get them more of what they want.
