You might find the Holy Grail traditions and the more recent Rosicrucian tradition interesting, if you're not already aware of them. These are, like Gnosticism, Western Esoteric schools. Esoteric, as in the in-group teachings, or occul

I agree with all of what you said, and my personal twist is that this weird, archaic, self-preserving hierarchy is a slightly-lagging expression of our collective mindset. We're changing how we think, and that is indirectly eroding awa

Same. I didn't know how to express my passions, and I didn't know that I didn't know. I've since been (re?)discovering this. I'm still working on it. I wish that we didn't talk down to kids to teach them, and i

Sounds a bit presumptious to me. Sure, they have your needle, but they also need a cost-efficient way to find it in their hay stack.

How do you propose that would work? A pipeline that goes through query-response pairs to deduce response quality and then uses the low-quality responses for further training? Wouldn't you need a model that's already smart enough t

If you were to try to implement what you described, you'd figure out what you missed quickly. Namely, that you have to interface your interface to a text interface.

So this basically says either have the tool implement this inteface or write a wrapper (which would be the equivalent of writing an MCP server), right? So this is slightly more general than MCP, or am I missing something?

By the way, Viking is a historian term, as far as I know. It was not used in the period or at least not as it is used now. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, surely you wouldn't call (now or then) Mediterranean-born pirates Vikings.

That's a somewhat sad question, because we hardly know. Not enough written record exists and "paganism" was increasingly outlawed during the past millenia to the point where we're out of people that had it handed down to

I've seen archaelogical artefacts from East Baltic graves with runes. The commentary in the exhibition stated that runes and rune-related shamanic practices were imported across the Baltic sea. I'm not a historian, I'm only c

Someone might find this interesting. Viking is a term for Scandivanians in a specific time-period, and it's also a term for pirates from the wider North European area in that specific period, because, interestingly, it wasn't only

I think of this is answering the questions of what vs why. When what is being done is self-evident, that's readable code. When why it's being done is evident, that's good documentation. And, you need both.

I found it surprising that regular, dumb 155mm artillery rounds cost 4-5k apiece. Imagine the kind of drones you can build for that much in Ukraine. No wonder drone warfare is taking off so fast.
