Um, because life is more important than work? Because your kids will only be young once and they don't give a sh*t about your CV? Because you could be dead tomorrow? Because there is lots apart from work that gives you love, satisfact

Seems to me that there's a middle way. Self hosting is too hard, but making sure you've got local duplicates of all your stuff is less so. As a simple example: I use Dropbox and Google Drive extensively. I'd like not to but t

Aw man, that's sad. I was just reaching for my wallet when I saw the standalone thing and I wondered if that was really the case. It looks radical, but if I can't hook it into my DAW then it's no good to me :-(

It gives me and clients what we need - nice simple engagement metrics. I'm self hosting and it's easy to setup.

I hate everything about GA4. It's a totally counter intuitive, massively over complex interface. Things that were easy in the old version are now either insanely hard or simply missing. I'm moving my clients to Matomo and they&#x2

Diversify in as many areas as you can. In income terms, diversify away from a single source by learning new skills, training up in areas you're a bit rusty in, learning totally new ones. In savings or investments: diversify where you p

I like it a lot. Two things: it'd be great to be able to sort by comments / points, and you have a broken link - click about and then about again (suggest this link should actually change to "home" when you're on th

It's beyond tech and fin stuff IMO. The drive for profit has just driven customer service through the floor across pretty much every industry. If I think about all the services I use - banks, energy, SAAS, trains, internet... I don&#x2

Yeh, The Crow Road. I met him once working a book signing. He was brilliant, incredibly down to earth, very very funny and an all round good bloke. His books have kept me enthralled, especially Dead Air and Complicity. Helluva read.
