I really love how it looks, and congrats on getting it live. Immediate feedback: - a page, obviously linked from a banner / menu which describes what this thing is, how it works and who it is for. It may be obvious(ish) to HN but don’t

That's exactly right. Any product is essentially made up of a gazillion small tasks, whether setting up a framework or writing a database query. If just some of those small tasks can be made quicker / easier using these tools, the

Totally. It's a story about love and yet that's not the thing most people are responding to. I notice this a lot. When I wrote a blog post about the Remarkable 2 recently and it ended up on HN, very few of the comments were about

FWIW - the sync service provided by Obsidian is really worth paying for. Dropbox / Github just aren't as slick and integrated. The mobile app doesn't work without sync (not without some really nasty workarounds), the option

Amazing. Simon, do you know of any museums using this (I know of your niche museum site!) - but thinking more museum collections? Would love a conversation.

Note to HN commenters: it's always nice to think, and express, "wow, you shipped a thing" before diving into a solid wall of criticism. This fella has got over the biggest, greatest hurdle of them all - actually getting somet

Been using Preview for years and only the other day did I realise you can redact stuff. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Agree - a UK without WhatsApp would be a UK in revolt. Literally everyone I know from teens to oldies organises their lives on it. Lack of WhatsApp would be enough to drag our sorry apathetic lazy non-protesting arses out onto the street

I've been using Kagi[0] for a while now and it's pretty great in general - but also has options to boost up / down / totally ignore certain domains. It also has "lenses" that let you set a context (example: I&#

There's certainly a lot of baggage carried by almost everyone almost all the time. We spend a big chunk of our lives worrying that X thing will happen, and another big chunk of our lives worrying that Y thing did happen. And yet we onl

Yes. This IMO is one of the 3 key issues with federation as it is now: 1. Noone understand what "federation" is so they all flock to the big servers hence making the majority of the system totally non-federated in nature 2. Findab
