I think your translator is broken -- there's just a bunch of new Android phones all coming out at once, whereas before last month there was only the G1 on T-Mobile. Hence the explosion.

Visits on our site over the last month were 14% direct, 5.7% searching for our name, according to GA. If you are unsure of the domain name, Google is definitely the more trustworthy option.

Out of curiosity, which startups? I'm not sure this changes anyone's chances though -- bug tracking was already a bit crowded. They're probably going after the trac users.

Just be aware that Android operates in a resource constrained environment, so that some practices (such as avoiding garbage collection through resource pools) aren't typical in desktop or server-side Java applications. Also, if you're going

It seems that the solution will be to develop a means of modding the system while leaving proprietary apps & drivers intact: http://groups.google.com/group/android-platform/browse_threa... Kudos to the Android engineers for working ar

The performance problems he mentions probably aren't due to a lack of JIT, but rather to poor garbage collection performance. One of the biggest problems with developing a real-time app on Android is that the garbage collector can take 200m

I thought Java's sorting algorithm was just recently replaced: http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6804124 Is this the same, or something new?

Motorola is going to need more than the 3rd Android phone on the 4th place carrier to save themselves. Hopefully they have a Verizon Android phone up their sleeve. That said, it's great to see the flood of Android phones hitting the market.

This has me quite excited about Android's future: http://www.cnet.com/8301-19736_1-10307673-251.html?tag=mncol... If it had come a month and a half ago Verizon could have saved me a switch to T-Mobile!

OK, but the implementation layer is just another layer of algorithms, except that you have somewhat less control over it. I notice your code uses inject, which is coded in C rather than Ruby -- as are many parts of POOR where C offers bette

The JSR will certainly improve JRuby's speed and simplify development, but I don't think it will affect adoption (and actually I'd say JRuby was already on the map, given that it can run Rails and handily beats Ruby 1.8 performance-wise). J

Actually, gambling itself is generally not against the law. Anti-gambling laws usually target businesses that derive profits from gambling, not the gamblers themselves.
