Ah, statistics again. Wow, massive numbers. What happens if you add the terms latino and latina? https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=2018-01-01%202... Right, it barely moves above the zero line.

Yeah, that should be possible and is something I considered when I was playing around with comp time. But, having a language-provided or even recommended way makes things much easier. Also, I wouldn't call it trivial. I think you need

As a disclaimer, the last time I gave Zig a solid shot was when 0.12 released. The last time I played with comptime properly was in 0.11. There's a heap of praise thrown at zig comptime. I can certainly see why. From a programming lang

I don't want to bring politics into this, but I find the hype behind HTMX eerily similar to the populist vibes I get reading what their voters write. There's this vague general sense that the "Web used to be simple" and

The conversation isn't about text inputs but about text labels. On the web you can usually select any text. Paragraphs? No problem. Form labels? Sure, easy. But desktop and mobile apps don't allow that. You can only select text in

They in fact aren't. First, getting blocked on GitHub doesn't remove your access to the repository. You can still see and fork the code. You just can't comment in issues and discussions. Second, no actual developer of Godot h

I went to check for myself. The posts for me seem to be split 50/50 between tech content from people I'm following and raging debates about whether Churchill is responsible for WW2 (due to some podcast with Tucker Carlson). As you

This really just isn't true. If your state updates are at the component subtree level (like react) a vdom is a good choice. But, if you make your state changes more granular, you can get away with skipping VDOM entirely and work with j

Svelte will work here the same way that React does. If a component/element isn't mounted it will not render or update. Where Svelte has an advantage is that: 1. A lot of stuff is built in, but extendable/replaceable. Styling,

As a game developer, you should consider reducing branches in shaders. Though if you're CPU bound, then sure, it's something to think about.

If you want to see some criticism of svelte, one of the core maintainers recently asked about some things that could be improved about svelte in the next major version: https://twitter.com/trueadm/status/1676694161

For local dev, I usually just spin up a server using python -m http.server . There are no conditional top level imports, but you can call import("thing") which gives you a promise for the module.

Since rust follows RAII, any and all resources allocated in the context should be deallocated when their destructor (the drop trait) is called. The unfortunate exception to this are resources which require an async call to deallocate proper

That's kind of funny considering you can't use `for` and `if` in JSX. I think you meant `.map` and the surprising rules of the `&&` operator.
