Do real estate investments count? I've heard others say it's not truly passive.

I think this is a neat idea. There's a big push towards venture debt and this nicely correlates as the equivalent option for early liquidity. Given the right terms, I'm sure both sides would be willing to participate.

Despite so many having so much, it doesn't make them any happier. We still see suicide, overdose, greed, selfishness and many other problems. Yes, money does make things easier for those who possess it, but it shouldn't be the goa

It's funny how the wheel goes round and round. I loved it when Netflix had a lot more content, but now that each studio/production/company offers its own, it's ending up like nothing more than streaming a la carte and pe

I don't get where not being tough on crime comes from. Having grown up in a third world country with rampant crime, and also in the US (and having seen California decriminalize petty theft, traspassing and various other things), what i

My thoughts exactly! A lot of the "social" things are OAuth based, not SAML. I know Google has both, but when doing consumerish things via Google, that's also OAuth based (iirc).

Does FB use SAML for their login flows? I know Google has several different options and SAML is available, but was unaware about FB. Maybe in one of their more enterprisey apps/services?

Yes, to some degree. We need better email infrastructure to handle this type of thing. I can see there being situations where it can cause problem or friction. What I do know is that what we have today is an absolute mess and it's horr

I don't care that it takes 10 days. What I want is to not get new spam that I have to constantly unsubscribe to. Systems should be forced to send you an initial approval/subscribe email to begin with. This alone would help reduce

This is the way for companies to do right by the first few employees (and have a longer than 90 exercise window when leaving). I know a super early employee who left and had to take a loan to exercise and pay taxes. It's kind of sad to

I know this is looked down upon around these parts, but I own real estate. I started by buying my own place over 15 years ago and every time I move, I turn the previous place into a rental investment. Say what you will about "rent seek
