I have similar frustrations with most of Google's products. I hate the maps the most. Between the iOS and the web version, it can be so difficult to find the same data.

Does Amazon have one? How did you find out Facebook has one coming? I'm assuming facebook needs one for their own data center, and if that's the case then could this mean they want to enter a similar market as AWS?

I don't think the structure of the response would be the dictating factor for a "poorly designed RESTful architecture". This response format no longer makes things RESTful because it lumps together so many different models. T

I get promises, but in this example: function getFullName( id ){ return ajax( "/user/" + id + "/name" ) + " " + ajax( "/user/" + id + "/lastname" )

Very common. RESTful architectures always give rise to this type of pattern. For example, you fetch a user id, and then you fetch all the blog posts by the user then you fetch the comments for the blog posts.

Definitely better than callbacks, but debatable wether this solution or promises is better. I like both.

The idea is to improve code composition by creating synchronicity. With Promises, you generally have to return the promise and then attach a then method to do something which is contagious and creates tons of dependencies on promises.

I get that it returns a wrapper, but the functions like map and toUpperCase would have to wait for the asynchronous callback somehow. How does this work?

I don't like to view it as an disorder, because that says there is a correct way that your brain should function. I think it's just different. Viewing it disorder is self-defeating for people with ADHD, it's like saying they

What is even considered overuse of event broadcasting and listening? I disagree completely with this being an anti-pattern. It is very effective and it helps encapsulate code and separate out concerns very well. For example, if you are poll

For the routing, this seems like the traditional server-side routing where you have a 1 to 1 relationship between a page and a URL (as opposed to a relationship between an URL and a state). If that premise is correct, does this mean Skit wo

Yes, it isn't backwards compatible, but you can use AngularJS 2 side by side with Angular 1.X. There were migration paths presented at NG Japan.

This is a bit of a tangent, but I really wanted to comment on the product he is making. I have been using apiary.io, and I always felt that it was lacking in many aspects (versioning, ghetto note editor, parsing issues in the preview, etc..

I agree completely. You wouldn't do this any ANY language let alone Angular. However, I get he is trying to make a point that junior developers are using the $scope too trivially therefore causing slow performances, but this can be eas

The worst part about abstracting JS to classical inheritance (ex, CoffeeScript classes) is that the concepts do not match 1 to 1. If you try to create class variables, you will quickly run into closure issues which are clearly obvious in th
